St Gabriel's is a substantial out-of-centre Parish straddling the boundary between Walsall and Sandwell Metropolitan Boroughs in the West Midlands, where the built-up area abuts open country. The Parish itself contains a wide range of public and private housing, two industrial estates, a retail park and Walsall FC's home ground, together with a number of green open spaces including a golf course.

The Parish is seeking a priest of traditional Catholic Faith and practice, and are particularly looking for the following graces, skills and aptitudes:

- celebration of daily mass as a spiritual foundation for the life and witness of the parish
- positive forward-looking leadership with the ability to motivate and delegate
- outreach and evangelism to younger age groups
- a productive approach to the stimulation of personal giving through money, time and talents
- consolidation and development of existing Parish assets whilst identifying and initiating new spiritual and pastoral activities

St Gabriel's has passed Resolutions A, B and C and is under the pastoral care of the Bishop of Ebbsfleet. Parish assets include a Day Care Centre, Parish Bus and Drop-In Club, as well as a Company of the Church Lads and Girls Brigade. A refurbished purpose-built Vicarage stands next to the Church in secluded grounds. It has four bedrooms. The Mission Church of the Annunciation is about a mile from the Parish Church.
