Explaining T.E.A. in Parishes
|
As the Church of England (CofE) moves towards appointing women to episcopal
office, explorations have been made towards making provision for those who in
conscience cannot accept this further innovation by the CofE in isolation from
the wider Church.
These explorations have led so far to the debate by the General Synod in its
February AD2006 sitting of proposals made by a working party fo the CofE House
of Bishops for what have been termed Transferred Episcopal Arrangements
(T.E.A.).
These proposed arrangements fall short of the proposals made by Forward in
Faith (FiF) and others for an additional and distinct province of the CofE, but
acknowledge some of the arguments made in the proposals for an additional
province.
From this page a leaflet prepared for parishes under the pastoral and
sacramental care of the Bishop of Ebbsfleet can be downloaded in PDF format for
use in helping laity and parishes understand the rationale for and effects of
the T.E.A. proposals as they presently stand.
